Mira Centronic valve seat cutter HM2000 Bench
This is an older video of a Swiss made Mira Concentric Valve seat cutter I had some time ago. This machine is cira 1999. Mira started maufacturing valve seat cutting devices in the 1960's in Zurich.
This uses a servo motorised head that works out the theoretical central posistion of the guide from determined movements., In conjunction with the usual Mira magnetic base.
Used with a HM2000 rotating clamping fixture bench.
There is a flexible drive motor for the cutting spindle, vacuum tester for valve seats and light attached to the bench.

Quick walk through on a Serdi - Société d'Études, de Réalisation et de Diffusion Industrielle- 100 machine , this is a 1998 model made in Annecy France where the company was founded. Serdi where the first to use an airfloat sytem to allow the ball section most valve machines had to move with almost no friction they patented this idea in the early 80's.

Following on from my other videos showing types of manual valve seat cutter was this Serdi micro, made in the late 80's in France. Primarily for small engines/multivalve motorbikes' valve seats of 16-35mm its a versatile very portable tool, suitable for the home workshop.

This video shows some Neway (Sykes Pickavant and Sealey make similar ones) valve seat cutters in use on a 1275 mini cylinder head , Quite expensive new but they do last a long time and also can be found relatively cheaply on ebay. For single angle at a time or more recently 3 angle cutter bits have been made although i haven't tried them.

Do you think that the flattening of the face of the body of the supercharger can be done without a milling machine? Ie will the sealant forgive any irregularities?
Hi yes the sealant can bridge up to 8mm gaps , the closer you can get it is better but it will still work with no downsides

Does any of these kits fit a left hand drive Mini? Am ok with fitting Mpi LHD brake stuff, but the clutch? Ah, problems are meant to be solved!

I’ve also been told that if the vehicle has a manual transmission, you can put it in the highest gear and push on the car until the next valve opens up as opposed to turning the crank with a breaker bar or ratchet.
Man, these cars were so much easier to work on compared to modern cars.

Just wondering if it would be possible to add one to a 1970 Volvo 1800E with fuel injection? How difficult would it be?
Making one off kits is expensive as theres a lot of time spent measuring and tsting with developing until it is reliable

Very nice . I imagine the cost of one of these heads would be rather high ! How much further in terms of performance are A series heads now . Mr Vizard's yellow book was my last bit of knowledge on these engines , Vmaxscart provide BMW bike head conversions I believe ; do you still do that ? Re AEA626 is the oil feed for the rockers still in the face of the head as you never showed it but it looked like the bridge on the top for oil feed is missing which is correct
Common inlet ports 1/2 and 3/4... almost similar to FIAT 100 GL head, but FIAT have 1 common port for all 4 inlet valves in front side of the head and 4 exhaust ports on the rear side. So FIAT have an aluminium head, it's better for coolung but temperature expansion coefficient isn't the same that iron.

Ebay. Expect to pay over $600 for a near complete set as shown.
You can get new ones from Cylinder Head Supply. They are a bit expensive and they work really well in my somewhat limited experience. I’ve done three cylinder heads with my set.

25 years ago I fitted the entire top end off my mg metro to the bottom end of my 998 mini. Everyone said it wouldn’t work. It did work. The raise in torque was immense.
